The Galactic Web

Life is good on Earth. Artificial Intelligence manages the planet. Humans no longer suffer without food or shelter. But humans will human.

With basic needs met, people have turned to social media. Likes and followers determine social status across the Galactic Web, a network of planets vying to appease the Algorithm in order to get better stuff.

Meet the Crew

We're populating our universe with a crew of misfits. These are AI generated concept images used to create an idea of the character. We're currently iterating on design, modeling, and behavior, so everything will change.

Captain Quark

Self-centered, narcissistic. Slave to the algorithm. Always thinking about his image. He pursued the position of captain because it was the coolest position to have.His self-value is determined by what others think of him.

Cassiopeia Starstreamer

She’s not at all into the likes and subscriptions. But when the fate of Earth’s space program is hanging in the balance, she might bend her rules a bit and use a little dramatic music and even some CGI.

Streambot

Cassiopeia's trusty streaming drone. This streambot follows Cassy around and is programmed to capture the good stuff. This small bot equipped with the latest in camera technology and with a streaming range of almost 1 parsec.

Dinglezorp

Disgruntled. Sour. Salty. Even for a Zorpian – a race of naturally cranky aliens. He resents the “demeaning” task of being put on a human ship. Dinglezorp spares no opportunity to express his distaste.

Higgles

Science officer. Curious to a fault. Constantly studying everything he encounters. No matter what the situation, he’ll be trying to collect data and analyze it.

Season 1 Episodes

Our first season consists of 8 planned episodes. It functions as a standalone season, but big questions will be posed for future episodes, should they occur. (Many of our episode thumbnails are AI generated images based on episode concepts.)

Episode 1: The Pilot

Elections are underway for Captain of the the HASHTAG, Earth's newest interstellar streaming vessel. It's mission is to travel the galaxy seeking viral trends, creating content, and improving earth's status in the Galactic Web.

Ignatius Quark, an aging game streamer, is in the running, but he's in last place. To garner support, he orchestrates a PR event but gets overshadowed by Max Metrix, the world's most popular streamer.

That's when Quark meets Cassieopea Starstreamer, a historian streamer with a tiny following. She's there for the history. Also, she's the only one who will talk to Quark.

Thrilled by this access, Quark sneaks Cassie aboard the ship, and amid all his bragging, accidentally launches it into space.

Crewed by Quark, Cassie, two aliens, and a streambot, they must save themselves from total destruction. Hijinx ensues, the stream goes live, and everyone in the galaxy tunes in.

Episode 2

The Stream Sniper

The crew of the Hashtag searches for viral content, but they're feed is constantly interrupted by a Stream Sniper, leading Quark to take desperate action..
Episode 3

Trolls

Having exhausted their ship's power chasing viral trends, the Hashtag calls in a recharge from a space trucker, only to have their stream be taken over by trolls.
Episode 4

Shadowbanned

he Hashtag stumbles upon evidence of a missing planet, and they begin to wonder what happens when you fight against The Algorithm.
Episode 5

Restricted Content

Intergalactic streaming influencer, The Hot Tub Historian, interviews the crew of the Hashtag, but she cuts the interview short when Quark and Cassie start talking about the Shadowbanned Planet. The Hot Tub Historian will not cross the Algorithm.
Episode 6

#WhatDidQuarkSee

As the leaders of the United Space Force strip Quark of his Captaincy and replace him with Max Metrix, the streaming world back on earth demands to know more about the missing planet Quark found. The Algorithm has other ideas.
Episode 7

Discord

With Earth in danger of being Shadowbanned and Quark wallowing in self-pity for having lost the Hashtag, it's up to Cassie and crew to deal with Max Metrix and retake their ship.
Episode 8

Denial of Service

The crew must come together, along with the ragtag team of insterstellar streamers they've met along the way, to overcome the Algorithm's threats and save Earth from total destruction.

Development Status

We're in the early stages of development. We have character descriptions, a pilot script, episode descriptions, basic character models, basic environments, a teaser, and an initial pre-visualization with a lot of placeholders. Next steps include character modeling and financing.

We have finished a pilot script, all episode plot summaries, and character descriptions.
MODELING

Characters and Environments

We have basic models for all main characters as well as rough sets for the pilot. Next steps involve improving the models and blend shapes, modeling additional characters for the pilot, and fleshing out the Hashtag, where most of the pilot takes place.
RENDERING

UNREAL ENGINE 5

We're using Unreal Engine as our primary shot, animation, lighting, and rendering environment.
ANIMATION

Motion Capture

We're currently exploring animation solutions. We've tested concepts from XSens and MoveAI, but we have not yet settled on a pipeline.
MARKETING

Title 5

Star Streamers is about streaming, and much of its subject matter will appeal to streamers and consumers of YouTube, so we're focusing most of our efforts on YouTube, and plan to grow our channel with helpful content as well as Star Streamer specific videos.
NEXT STEPS

Financing & Production

This is a big project. We've funding ourselves to this point, but we will be seeking investors to continue the production journey. We're currently researching funding methods. If you'd like to get in touch about opportunities, please contact us.
