The Galactic Web

Life is good on Earth. Artificial Intelligence manages everything. Humans no longer suffer without food or shelter.

With their basic needs met, people have turned to social media. Likes and followers determine social status, not just on Earth, but across the entire Galactic Web, a network of planets vying to appease the Algorithm in order to get better stuff.

When life revolves around social media and viral content, crazy things will happen.

Meet the Crew

We're populating our universe with a crew of misfits. These are initial 3D models of our main characters. We're currently iterating on design, modeling, and behavior.

Captain Quark

Self-centered, narcissistic. Slave to the algorithm. Always thinking about his image. He pursued the position of Captain because it was the coolest position to have. His self-value is determined by what others think of him.

Cassiopeia Starstreamer

Historian. Focused on accurately telling history. Doesn't care about Likes and subscribers. But when the fate of Earth’s space program is hanging in the balance, she might bend her rules a bit and use a little dramatic music. Maybe even some CGI.

Streambot

Cassiopeia's trusty streaming drone. This streambot follows Cassie everywhere and is programmed to capture the good stuff. And the bad stuff. Equipped with the latest in camera technology and with a streaming range of almost 1 parsec.

Dinglezorp

Disgruntled. Sour. Salty. Even for a Zorpian – a race of naturally cranky aliens. He resents the “demeaning” task of being put on a human ship. Dinglezorp spares no opportunity to express his distaste.

Higgles

Science officer. Curious to a fault. Constantly studying everything he encounters. No matter what the situation, he’ll be trying to collect data and analyze it, often to the detriment of more important tasks..

Season 1 Episodes

Our first season consists of 8 planned episodes. It functions as a standalone season, but big questions will be posed for future episodes, should they occur.

Episode 1: The Pilot

So get this - the people of Earth are picking a Captain for the USF HASHTAG, their cool new interstellar streaming vessel built purely for chasing clout across the cosmos. Its whole deal? Zip around space hunting alien trends, making viral vids, and basically growing Earth's following on the Galactic Web.

Enter Ignatius Quark - once the king of game streaming, now just that "old dude who still plays Quantum Racer." Last in the polls, Quark orchestrates a publicity stunt that goes awry when Max Metrix (think space-age MrBeast) shows up and steals all the attention.

While sulking in a corner, Quark meets Cassiopeia Starstreamer, history nerd and micro-influencer. She's probably the only person around who isn't swarming Max Metrix. She's there to chronicle Earth's foray into Galactic streaming, which means she'll actually talk to Quark.

Vibing on this rare ego boost, Quark sneaks Cassie onto the ship for an "exclusive tour." Between flexing about features he knows nothing about and pressing random buttons to look important, Quark accidentally hits the big red "LAUNCH" button (seriously, who designs these things?).

Now they're hurtling through space with two alien maintenance workers and a StreamBot 9000 whose sarcasm setting is permanently stuck at maximum.

Plot twist! The ship's stream automatically goes live, broadcasting their total disaster to the entire universe. Suddenly they're trending on every planet from here to Andromeda.

Now Quark's got what he always wanted – fame across the galaxy – if only they weren't, you know, running out of oxygen and getting sucked into black holes. Talk about a must-see stream!

Episode 2

The Stream Sniper

The Hashtag crew searches for viral content, but their feed is constantly interrupted by a Stream Sniper, leading Quark to take desperate action.
Episode 3

Trolls

Having exhausted their ship's power chasing viral trends, the Hashtag crew calls in a recharge from a space trucker, only to watch their stream be taken over by trolls.
Episode 4

Shadowbanned

The Hashtag stumbles upon evidence of a missing planet, and they begin to wonder what happens when you fight against The Algorithm.
Episode 5

Restricted Content

Intergalactic streaming influencer, The Hot Tub Historian, interviews the crew of the Hashtag, but she cuts the interview short when Quark and Cassie start talking about a Shadowbanned Planet. The Hot Tub Historian will not cross the Algorithm.
Episode 6

#WhatDidQuarkSee

As the leaders of the United Space Force strip Quark of his Captaincy and replace him with Max Metrix, streamers back on earth demand to know more about the missing planet Quark found. The Algorithm has other ideas.
Episode 7

Discord

With Earth in danger of being Shadowbanned and Quark wallowing in self-pity for having lost command of the Hashtag, it's up to Cassie and crew to deal with Max Metrix and retake their ship.
Episode 8

Denial of Service

The crew must come together, along with the ragtag team of interstellar streamers they've met along the way, to overcome the Algorithm's threats and save Earth from total destruction.

Development Status

We're in the early stages of development. We have character descriptions, a pilot script, episode descriptions, basic character models, basic environments, a teaser, and an initial pre-visualization with a lot of placeholders. Next steps include character modeling and financing.

We have finished a pilot script, all episode plot summaries, and character descriptions.
MODELING

CHARACTERS AND ENVIRONMENTS

We have basic models for all main characters as well as rough sets for the pilot. Next steps involve improving the models and blend shapes, modeling additional characters for the pilot, and fleshing out the Hashtag, where most of the pilot takes place.
RENDERING

UNREAL ENGINE 5

We're using Unreal Engine as our primary shot, animation, lighting, and rendering environment.
ANIMATION

MOTION CAPTURE

We're currently exploring animation solutions. We've tested concepts from XSens and MoveAI, but we have not yet settled on a pipeline.
MARKETING

YOUTUBE CHANNEL

Star Streamers is all about streaming, and much of its subject matter will appeal to streamers and consumers of YouTube, so we're focusing most of our efforts on YouTube. We plan to grow our channel with helpful content as well as Star Streamer specific videos.
NEXT STEPS

FINANCING & PRODUCTION

This is a big project we've funded ourselves to this point, but we're seeking investors to continue the production journey. We're currently researching funding methods. If you'd like to get in touch about opportunities, please contact us.
